Golf
There is a golf driving range and 9 hole golf course at Maesmawr(next door).

Fishing
Fishing is available on the famous Severn River, The Clywedog Resevoir and local pools.

Mid Wales Shooting Centre
Mid Wales Shooting Centre caters for the novice to the expert shooter, providing a vast range of shooting facilities which includes 16 Trap Layouts, 4 Skeet layouts and 18 Sporting Stands.

Dams and Resevoirs
There are a range of picturesque locations within easy reach such as Clywedog Dam, the famous Elan Valley Dams and Lake Vyrnwy.

Bird Watching
The Red Kite feeding centre at Rhyader is a really good afternoon, or just bring your binoculars and see what is about throughout the season.

Powis Castle
The Medieval castle rises dramatically above the celebrated gardens, located in Welshpool and makes an excellent family day out.

Great Little Trains of Wales
The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway is part of the Great Little Trains of Wales Network, the Narrow Guage line is a lovely way to experience the scenery of Mid Wales.

Leisure Centres
Locally (Newtown, Llanidloes, Machynlleth and Welshpool) there are several Leisure Centres with swimming pools, gym, dance classes something to help all the family stay fit or just relax in the pool.

Markets
Street markets are at Newtown(Tuesday) and Machynlleth(Wednesday).

Dining Out
There are a wide selection of pubs and restaurants to be enjoyed in the local area..

The Beach
In just 45 minutes drive you have the seaside town of Aberystwyth and Borth, also the sandy beach and dunes of Ynyslas..
